Bannatyne’s supports Sport Relief
Bannatyne’s Health Clubs in Edinburgh and Musselburgh have become the official fitness partner of Sport Relief 2008 and will be helping local people put their best foot forward for charity by selling special Sport Relief Socks.
Made from Fairtrade certified cotton, they cost £2, with at least £1 of that going to help change lives, and are available from the health clubs’ receptions in Queen Street, Edinburgh and Newcraighall Road, Musselburgh.
In the build-up to the Sport Relief Weekend, which takes places between 14 and 16 March, Bannatyne’s will be hosting a series of fundraising events in support of the charity.
Most notably, members will take part in a simultaneous, UK-wide charity exercise class. Together with hundreds of people from Bannatyne’s 62 other health clubs across Scotland, England and Wales, members and staff in Edinburgh will raise money by working out to the same choreographed exercise routine.
The health club has also organised a special Sport Relief Charity Lottery, which offers members the chance to win prizes including Gold Membership to Bannatyne’s for a family of four, overnight stays at Bannatyne’s UK hotels and vouchers for its Sensory Spas.
Sport Relief is one of the UK’s most recognised charity campaigns, harnessing the power and passion of sport to change people’s lives for the better. Comic Relief spends the money raised through Sport Relief to help vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and abroad.
Duncan Bannatyne, Chairman of Bannatyne Fitness, said: “Sport Relief is a brilliant way to help people in the UK and around the world. I’d encourage anyone, no matter what their sporting ability, to rise to the challenge to raise money for this excellent charity.”
