DINE@MINE

AS STAYING in becomes the new going out, Cancer Research UK is launching Dine@Mine - a new fundraising initiative that gives people the chance to enjoy food with friends or family whilst raising money for life-saving research.

The charity is encouraging people across Scotland to get together and host an evening of food, fun and friendliness. In return, guests will be asked to make a donation to support Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

Dine@Mine is designed to be accessible to everyone, from experienced party hosts to complete cooking novices. What matters is that everyone has a great time, assured that their fundraising efforts will help support the work of 4,250 research scientists, doctors and nurses throughout the UK.

Anyone searching for an ideal date to host an event could consider 29 February. As 2008 is a leap year, the extra day provides the perfect opportunity to make a real difference and celebrate Cancer Research UK’s leap year appeal ‘Make Today Count’.

“Dine@Mine events can be small scale affairs for five or six people or they can be extravagant feasts for 30! And once the Dine@Mine is over the host can concentrate on persuading one or more of their guests to host their own.”
To obtain a Dine@Mine fundraising pack, phone 08701 602040 or visit www.cancerresearchuk.org/dine
